Grain elevators and recruiters. Already, this sounds like an unlikely story. But for Owen Masterson and Masterson Staffing, this was his reality and our foundation.
As an entrepreneur running grain elevators in Walnut Grove, MN and surrounding towns back in the 1960s, Owen was frequently recruited by head hunters to be an executive at a grain company. During this process, he saw first-hand how recruiters help companies bridge the burgeoning talent gap. It was this process that inspired him to become a recruiter himself.
After a year of working at another recruiting company, Owen’s entrepreneurial spirit drove him to create his own staffing agency. With three recruiters to help him, Owen set out to help connect employers with the right talent doing direct placement. The company then added temporary staffing in the late-1980s, which helped us grow into the company we are today. Fast forward over 30 years later and Masterson Staffing Solutions continues to focus on creating valuable, lasting relationships for both employers and job seekers.
If the above story didn’t tip you off, 2018 marks a big year for us at Masterson Staffing. It marks our 50th anniversary as a recognized leader in the staffing industry, giving us half a century’s worth of experience working with talented job seekers and amazing companies large and small.
